ABOUT
GENERAL FILM SERVICES LLC (GFS) is a US-based private consultancy and production company founded in 2020.
As consultancy GFS has advised on programmes for the Hainan Island International Film Festival; and is on-going advisor to the Asian Film Awards Academy (AFAA); Far East Film Festival Udine; London East Asia Film Festival among others. GFS has designed and guided the implementation of the inaugural International Film Camp to be held in Macau by the AFAA in April 2024.
In production work, GFS produced the expanded cinema work "The Once and Future" (director: Yeo Siew-hua) which premiered at the Singapore International Arts Festival, 2022 and the New Vision Arts Festival, Hong Kong in 2023.
Other recent works include "The Rib" (China, dir: Zhang Wei, 2018-2021) It is currently producing a documentary with Mar Vivo Films on the Chinese-Cuban artist Wifredo Lam (dir: Jean-Luc Bonéfacino); a film study on silent Asian cinema; a film d'essai on horror movie in South East Asia; and developing another expanded cinema work among other projects.

GFS was founded by Roger Garcia.
Roger Garcia was executive director of the Hong Kong International Film Festival, Hong Kong Asia Financing Forum, and Asian Film Awards Academy.
He has produced studio pictures in Hollywood and experimental films in Asia. His latest expanded cinema work THE ONCE AND FUTURE world premiered in Singapore in 2022 and Hong Kong 2023.
He has served on juries, programmed and advised many international film festivals in Asia, Europe and USA.
He is currently advisor to the Asian Film Awards Academy; Far East Film Festival, Udine, Italy; London East Asia Film Festival, UK; among others. As film critic he has been published by British Film Institute, Cahiers du Cinema, Film Comment etc.
He was awarded Chevalier des Arts et Lettres by the French Government in 2018 and is a member of the European Film Academy.
